Welcome to North Bend United Methodist Church! When you come to visit us you will find a congregation that believes in three simple rules: “Doing no harm, doing good, and staying in love with God.” We believe also:
1) … Jesus Christ shows us the presence of God (because he is of God)
2) … God’s grace is found in: frequent partaking of Communion, celebrating Holy Baptism, praying and doing works of service, worship and other spiritual disciplines.
3) … in living our faith. Faith is not only personal – to be embraced within, but we are to work and reach out into the world and into other's lives with the light of Christ. The needs of the local community and our world family are of vital importance.
4) … in the Holy Spirit: God’s everyday Presence which guides and directs us to see our calling in God’s grand plans to bring us into complete connection with God and with creation.
5) … in diversity. We each have our stories, experiences and opinions we bring into God’s presence, and when combined lift up our Christian faith as witness to God’s grace and glory.
6) … Christ and his message to be relevant and powerful even today: God always desires to be close to us and wants us to live holy, joyful lives.
7) … in striving for perfection. We can never be perfect, but we can help one another grow and deepen in faith and holiness as we ultimately seek perfect union with God and one another.
8) … in having fun! God gave us much to be joy-filled over, so we like to celebrate those joys in many ways.
In the words of the founder of Methodism, John Wesley; “Who is a
Methodist? A Methodist is one who “loves the Lord God with all one’s heart, and with all one’s soul, and with all one’s mind, and with all one’s strength.”
This is just a small part of what we believe and practice. You are welcome to join us and learn more of who we are and more about our beliefs. Come and see us; we’ve got a place waiting for you!
